Due to growing political divides, the United States is at the greatest risk since the Civil War. As a former CEO, I’d like to know why my fellow business leaders aren’t doing more to fix it. Over the last decade our political debate has collapsed under the weight of toxic hyper-partisanship, and millions of our fellow citizens have lost faith in our established institutions. Both political parties are failing to deliver solutions for working-class citizens or to address the ever-increasing prosperity gap. As a result, Americans increasingly look outside the establishment for answers.
I agree 100% with you, and thank you for posting this discussion. The ever-increasing political divides have numbed the American public to reason, ethical concerns and dare I say common sense. We are not seeing one another's commonalities only focused on differences that make it impossible to make any progress in things that are larger than one individual, i.e., climate change, healthcare, and education. I look forward to reading more, contributing when I can, and sharing the link. Wishing you a happy, prosperous and inspirational 2024.
